You're standing at the Belgian monument in Cadier en Keer, on the Pater Kustersweg, on the Heerdeberg estate. Look at the sculpture. A lion leaps forward. Three resistance fighters are poised to attack. Beside them stands a grieving woman with a child. Together they rise from a scene of ruins. The whole thing is about three metres tall, including its base, and two metres wide.
