You're standing at Huis Gebroek, also known as Kasteel Genbroek, near the village of Geverik in the municipality of Beek. It's more of a white farmstead than a fairy-tale castle. Four wings with pitched roofs enclose a rectangular courtyard. The wide east wing, two storeys high, was where the family lived. The other wings once held a working building, a tenant farmer's house and a barn. Notice the little eight-sided tower on the east wing. And look for the iron wall anchors on the west front. Together they spell out a year from the 1610s.
