You're standing at Millen Castle, near Sittard, just across the border from the German village of Millen. Look carefully through the trees. Especially in winter, when the leaves have fallen, you can make out what's left of the old castle. A keep from the fourteenth century, a stretch of the curtain wall and a heavier piece of wall.
