You're standing at the Elsmuseum, on the Wolfeynde in Beek. This was once a farm, but look closely: its past has more to do with spirits than with milk and cheese. For more than a century and a half, a herbal bitter called Els La Vera was distilled here. The building is now a listed national monument.
