You're standing at Meerssenhoven Castle, in the far northern tip of Maastricht, close to Itteren. Look at the white, U-shaped house with a square moat around it. You reach it over a stone bridge with four arches. In the middle, a flight of curved steps leads up to the entrance on the first floor. The pediment on the north side holds a clock face. And against the east wing stands a square tower with a domed roof, added by the Regout family in 1902.
