You're standing at Hoogenweerth Castle, on the river Maas just west of Heugem in Maastricht. Take a look at the main house. It's painted yellow and grey, with gables that curve gracefully in and out, and a square stair tower topped by a spire that pinches in halfway up. On the south side you can see bands of brick and local marlstone. That's classic Meuse Renaissance style.
