Memorial Mémorial Bataille de Rocourt 1746 in Juprelle

You're standing on the old battlefield of Rocourt, on the northern edge of Liège. Take a look around. On 11 October 1746, tens of thousands of soldiers faced each other here, in the middle of the War of the Austrian Succession. The French, led by Marshal Saxe, had already taken almost all of the Austrian Netherlands. Brussels, Antwerp, Leuven and Namur had fallen. Now it was Liège's turn.
