You're standing at the Van Gogh Museum, on Museumplein in Amsterdam. This is home to the largest collection of Vincent van Gogh's paintings in the world. Start with the clean, rectangular building. That's the work of Gerrit Rietveld. The Dutch government commissioned him in 1963, but he died a year later. His partners finished the plans, and the museum opened on 2 June 1973.
