You're standing on the Stadhouderskade, outside the Heineken Experience. This big brick complex was once Heineken's very first brewery. It was built in 1867, and for more than a century real beer was brewed right here. That only stopped in 1988, when Heineken moved to a larger, more modern brewery on the edge of the city.
