Mint Tower in Amsterdam

You're standing on the Muntplein, at the Munttoren, the Mint Tower. This is where the Amstel river meets the Singel canal, and the traffic never stops. Look up. On top of a sturdy, stocky base sits an eight-sided tower with an elegant open lantern. That's where the bells hang, and you can see four clock faces. The tower is thirty-five metres tall.
