Cobra Museum in Amstelveen

You're standing outside Museum Cobra in Amstelveen, on Sandbergplein. First, look at the big, colourful sculpture by the entrance. That's The Fountain by Karel Appel, five metres tall and made especially for this museum. It's the only fountain Appel ever made, unveiled in 2001 for his eightieth birthday. Can you spot the fist and the bird? The fist stands for strength, the bird for freedom. Several of its parts are found objects that Appel worked into the piece.
