You're standing on the Herengracht, at numbers 170 and 172, in front of Huis Bartolotti. It's also known as the Colourful House, and one look at the façade tells you why. Pilasters, masks, vases, bands and little columns: this front is packed with decoration. The design is attributed to Hendrick de Keyser, and the building work to his son Pieter.
