You're standing at Montfort Castle, known locally as D'n Tómp or De Grauwert. What you see is a ruin, but an impressive one. The castle measures fifty by fifty metres, and its ground plan isn't square but many-sided. The curtain wall has angles in it too. All of that was designed for defence.
