You're standing at the Camp Westerbork Memorial Centre, the museum about Westerbork, the transit camp of the Second World War. The camp itself lay about three kilometres further on. No motor traffic and no new buildings are allowed there, because of the radio telescopes on the site. That's why the museum is here, on the Oosthalen road. A shuttle bus runs to the former camp, and you can also walk there along an educational trail.
