You're standing at This is Holland, in Amsterdam-Noord. Look at that round building, twenty-four metres tall. It stands out right away among all the boxy buildings around you. Architect Joep Mollink seems to have taken his cue from the round oil tanks that stood here before the Second World War, because this used to be a Shell site. Take a look at the outside too. It's covered in panels shaped like parallelograms, so the building looks a little different from every angle. At the bottom there's a base of almost pure glass, six metres high. And right next door you'll find the Eye Film Museum and the A'DAM Tower.
