You're standing at the Sint-Olofskapel, Saint Olaf's Chapel, between the Zeedijk and the Nieuwebrugsteeg, just off the Damrak. Amsterdam's city wall once ran here. Between 1440 and 1450 a chapel was built against a big city gate, the Sint Olofspoort. The gate came down in 1618, but the little alley still carries its name.
