Houten Huis in Amsterdam

You're standing in the Begijnhof in Amsterdam, in front of the Houten Huys, the Wooden House. Take a good look at the front. It isn't brick, like almost everything around you, it's wood. And that has become really rare in this city. Only two houses in all of Amsterdam still have a wooden façade: this one, and a building at the start of the Zeedijk.
