You're standing at the Waterland Museum de Speeltoren in Monnickendam. Look up at the tower. That's the old town hall tower, with a sixteenth-century carillon that is still played by hand. The tower is the museum's entrance, and it gave the museum its name. The façade next to it is a reconstruction of the seventeenth-century town hall, and the buildings on either side are new, built in old style. The museum opened in 2012.
