You're standing at De Hallen, in the Kinkerbuurt neighbourhood of Amsterdam-West. Take a look at that long row of brick halls. Today it's a lively cultural centre, but for more than ninety years this was a depot for trams. The city tram company built it between 1902 and 1905, and trams rolled in and out until 1996. After that, all sorts of tenants moved in, including a public transport museum that stayed until 2005.
