You're standing at the National Holocaust Names Memorial on the Weesperstraat, in the heart of Amsterdam's old Jewish quarter. A block of houses once stood on this spot, home to many Jewish Amsterdammers who were murdered by the Nazi regime. The block was demolished in the 1960s and 70s.
