You're standing at the Fort near Nigtevecht, on the west bank of the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal. It's one of the forts of the Defence Line of Amsterdam, the ring of defences around the capital. First, look at the water around it. That's the moat, and at the front it's about fifty metres wide.
