DDR-Museum in Berlin

You're standing at the DDR Museum, right on the bank of the River Spree in the centre of Berlin. Look across the water. That's Berlin Cathedral, with its big dome. This side of the river used to be part of East Germany's government district. And it's right here that a museum tells the story of everyday life in that vanished country, the German Democratic Republic, or DDR in German.
