You're standing on Museum Island, the northern part of an island in the middle of the River Spree, right in the heart of Berlin. Around you stand five museums, built between 1830 and 1930. Look at the big domed church too: that's Berlin Cathedral. It isn't a museum, but it belongs to this part of the island. Its crypt holds members of the Hohenzollern dynasty. In front of it lies the open park of the Lustgarten.
