You're standing on Friedrichstraße in Berlin, right by Checkpoint Charlie. This was the best-known, and most notorious, crossing point between East and West Berlin. The checkpoint you see here is a reconstruction. Right next to it is the Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie, also called the Wall Museum. It's one of the most visited museums in the city, with more than 850,000 visitors a year.
