Archaeological site Theatre of Nero in Rome

You're standing in the Borgo, the neighbourhood between Via della Conciliazione and Borgo Santo Spirito, next to the Palazzo dei Penitenzieri. This Renaissance palace is also called Palazzo della Rovere. Cardinal Domenico della Rovere started building it around 1480, possibly with Baccio Pontelli in charge. It's a handsome building, but the real story lies beneath its courtyard.
