You're standing on Piazza Bocca della Verità in Rome, next to a small round temple. This is the Temple of Hercules Victor, Hercules the Conqueror. It looks modest, but it's the oldest surviving, mostly intact marble building in Rome, and the only one made of Greek marble. It dates from the late second century BC.
