You're standing at a crossroads on top of the Quirinal, one of the hills of Rome. In fact, this is its highest point. On each of the four street corners, a fountain is set into the wall. Together they're called the Quattro Fontane, the Four Fountains. This is where Via del Quirinale meets Via delle Quattro Fontane.
