You're standing at the Forum of Nerva, the smallest of Rome's imperial forums. There isn't much left, but look for two hefty columns set against an old wall. They've never been buried. Since the Middle Ages Romans have called them Le Colonnacce, the ugly columns. A bit harsh, if you ask me.
