You're standing in the Eerste Weteringplantsoen, a small park in Amsterdam, on a path called the Kronkelpad. Look at the bronze bust on the granite pedestal. That's Simon Carmiggelt, a writer and a true Amsterdam character. The path is named after his Kronkels, the short sketches that the newspaper Het Parool printed every single day.
