You're standing at a spot that doesn't look like much at first glance. Yet right under your feet, one of the boldest spy operations of the Cold War took place. In the 1950s the border between the American sector of West Berlin and the Soviet zone ran through here. On the western side, in Rudow, stood a so-called warehouse with a radar station on top. On the eastern side, in Altglienicke, three Soviet Army telephone cables lay just beneath a busy street.
