You're standing at the Temple of Hephaestus, on the low hill of Agoraios Kolonos, at the edge of the ancient Agora of Athens. Take a good look: this is one of the best-preserved Greek temples anywhere. Hephaestus was the god of fire and of smiths. That fits this spot, because the temple was surrounded by potters' workshops and metalworkers.
