You're standing at the Temple of Athena Nike, the smallest temple on the Acropolis. Look at the steep bastion to the right of the entrance gate, the Propylaea. On top sits a graceful little temple of white marble, with four columns at the front and four at the back. It's the earliest temple on the Acropolis built entirely in the Ionic style.
