You're standing on Via Nazionale, one of Rome's busy shopping streets, in front of the Palazzo delle Esposizioni. The name gives it away: this is a palace built for exhibitions. Take a look at the façade. It's neoclassical, with that dignified, classical air you'll spot all over this city. Architect Pio Piacentini designed it, and it opened in 1883 with a big show of artists from that time.
