You're standing at Kasteel Bloemendal in Vaals, right by the German border. Look at the central part, with the double staircase up to the front door and the triangular pediment above it. That's the real house, built between 1791 and 1795. The curved wings on either side are much younger: they were added around 1991, when it became a hotel.
