You're standing at the Castle Haren lime kiln, on the edge of the Ubachsberg plateau, where the slope drops towards the Ransdalerveld. The kiln is built right into the hillside, and that's no accident. Behind it lies a limestone quarry, the Moonen quarry, so the stone came almost straight out of the ground behind you.
