You're standing at Kasteel Strijthagen in Landgraaf, in the valley of the Strijthagerbeek stream, near Schaesberg. Look at the main house by the ponds. It was built in the eighteenth century, on the site of an older castle. See the walls with alternating layers of brick and marl stone? Those stripes are known in Dutch as speklagen, bacon layers, and you see them a lot in Limburg, for instance at nearby Schaesberg castle. And look at the roof: a mansard roof, with that bend halfway down.
