You're standing in the dry valley called de Dael, northeast of the village of Ubachsberg, at the edge of the sloping Putberg woods. Here, in the slope beside the forest path, is the Putberg lime kiln. Across the path you can see a small quarry. That's where limestone used to be dug out of the ground.
