You're standing on the Grotestraat, in front of Museum Valkenburg. The building is older than the museum. It's Valkenburg's old town hall and post office, built from local Limburg marl to a design by architect Kröner. See the date stone? It says 1900. Fun detail: the famous Pierre Cuypers, who actually lived in Valkenburg, had already drawn up a design in 1894. Nobody knows why it was never built.
