You're standing on Park Street in Southwark, next to Anchor Terrace. This is where Shakespeare's real Globe Theatre once stood. Look down at the ground. The outline of the old foundations has been marked on the surface. Archaeologists only found a small piece of them in 1989, under a car park. The rest lies beneath the listed building beside you, so no more digging is allowed.
