You're standing at the British Library, the national library of the United Kingdom and one of the biggest libraries in the world. Start with the building itself, with its red brick and roofs that step up in terraces. Right next door is St Pancras station. Architect Colin St John Wilson designed it together with his wife, MJ Long, and Queen Elizabeth the Second opened it in 1998. It was the largest public building put up in Britain in the twentieth century, and today it's Grade I listed.
