Nationaal Monument MH17 in Haarlemmermeer

You're standing at the National MH17 Monument in Park Vijfhuizen. This is a place to pause and remember the MH17 air disaster of 17 July 2014. Look around you. You'll see a long ribbon of trees, 298 in all. Each tree stands for one of the people who died. The shape refers to the black ribbon that so many people wore after the disaster.
