De Waag in Haarlem

You're standing on the Spaarne river, at the corner of the Damstraat, by Haarlem's old weigh house, the Waag. Look at the façades. They're made of stone from Namur in Belgium, expensive and very durable back then. The two street-facing façades are exactly the same. That makes the building look calm and balanced, even though it stands on a small, oddly shaped plot.
