Kasteel Loenersloot in Stichtse Vecht

You're standing at Loenersloot Castle, on the west bank of the river Angstel. Start with the old residential tower. It dates back to the thirteenth century. The castle is first mentioned in 1258, and back then it was probably no more than a defensive tower. See the battlements on top? Those are much younger. In the nineteenth century the tower was wrapped in a new brick shell, and the battlements were added.
