You're standing at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, on the Media Park in Hilversum. This is the memory of Dutch radio and television. Start with the façade. It's full of colour, but these aren't ordinary coloured panels. Designer Jaap Drupsteen worked images from old film and TV programmes into them, heavily simplified and pressed into the glass in relief. There are 768 of them, spread over 2,244 glass panels that wrap around the building like a ribbon. When the sun hits them, it works a bit like a stained glass window.
