You're standing at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, one of the world's great opera houses. Londoners often just call the building Covent Garden. The name comes from an old convent garden that once stood here. Look at the white front on Bow Street. Six Corinthian columns hold up a triangular pediment, and on the raised terrace behind them there's a café inside a glass conservatory. The sculptures on the façade are older than the building itself. They were saved from the previous theatre on this spot.
