You're standing on the Danube, on the Pest side of the city. A few hundred metres to the north you can see the Parliament building. Now look down at the edge of the embankment, right above the water. There are shoes there. Sixty pairs, made of iron, fixed to the stone edge. They look as if people have just stepped out of them and walked away. That's exactly the point.
