You're standing at the Great Synagogue on Dohány Street in Budapest, the largest synagogue in Europe. It seats around three thousand people. Take a look at the façade. Two octagonal towers, over forty metres tall, topped with onion domes. A rose window above the entrance, and the Stone Tablets of the Ten Commandments between the towers. Notice the yellow and red brickwork, too. That's part of the Moorish style chosen by the Viennese architect Ludwig Förster. The synagogue was built between 1854 and 1859.
