You're standing at the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest, on the Pest side of the Danube. Hungarians call it the Országház, the House of the Country. Take in all those pointed little towers and that big dome in the middle. The building is ninety-six metres tall, and that number was chosen on purpose. It refers to the year 896, when, according to tradition, the Hungarians settled in this region.
