You're standing at Memento Park, on the edge of Budapest. This is where the city sent the statues it no longer wanted on its streets after communism ended. Start by looking around the entrance. The square next to it is called Witness Square, sometimes also Neverwas Square. On a pedestal you'll see a pair of giant bronze boots. They belonged to Stalin. During the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, protesters pulled his statue down, and only the boots were left standing. They became a symbol of the uprising. What you see here is an artistic recreation by the park's architect, not an exact copy.
