You're standing in the Donaupark in Vienna, at the foot of the Donauturm, the Danube Tower. Take a look up. At 252 metres, it's the tallest structure in Austria. It was built as the big attraction of the Vienna International Garden Show in 1964. The foundation stone was laid on 12 October 1962, and the tower opened on 16 April 1964, the very day the garden show began. The architects were Hannes Lintl and Robert Krapfenbauer. Most of the money came from a savings bank, with a small contribution from a brewery.
